We’ve never traveled over Christmas. It’s always been important to us to have our kids home on Christmas morning. But now that they’re older, they care less about the presents and more about experiences. So we’re thinking about taking a Winter Break trip.

I’ve been searching for places, and I found a really nice place in Hilton Head. But the girls say it won’t be warm enough there. They want someplace more tropical. Hm. Tropical sounds nice. But then we’d have to fly, and that adds a lot more uncertainty to things.

It will also be weird not being home on Christmas Day. We usually host one side of the family, so we’d have to have that gathering before we go. My family doesn’t get together until January, so that is not a problem.

It’s fun to think about traveling again, but I’m just not sure about the details.
