The picture at the top of the post is me waiting to get my first COVID shot today. I’m so excited to be on my way to immunity. I got a two-shot vaccine, so I’ll be going back later this month. This means that travel later this year is now distinctly more possible.
I also need to shout out to the amazing team at the IU Health Neuroscience Center. I was in and out in about 20 minutes, including the 15 minutes I had to wait to make sure I didn’t have a reaction. [Note: I work for IU Health but would have felt compelled to make that shout out anyway.]
Tonight at the end of my last meeting I was really exhausted. I’d kind of forgotten by that point that I’d gotten my shot today, and I was lying in bed wondering why I was so fatigued. And then I remembered. I probably rested for about 15 minutes then got up, made dinner, and am feeling kind of normal work-night levels of tiredness now. My brother had a rough 24 hours after his second dose, so I’m a little worried about that. Still, a rough 24 hours is a small price to pay to probably avoid a hospital stay AND to be able to meet friends and family in person again.
Now, I’m waiting for Indiana to drop the age limit to the next group so Andrew can get scheduled!
