I’ve mentioned before that we live very close to a university campus, and how weird it was when they all just didn’t come back from spring break. Well, now it’s move-in time, and that’s weird, too.
Even though the first day of classes isn’t until next Monday, students started moving in last Saturday. Normally, move-in day is a big day, with people from the neighborhood helping students get their things from their cars to their rooms. Last Saturday you wouldn’t have even known students were moving in. They must have been on a very slow schedule. Because no one was parking in all the weird places they normally park. We took a very long walk around campus Saturday, and I didn’t see a single box moving into a single residence hall.
Today was the first day of school at Ellie’s high school, but she didn’t go. They’re on a hybrid schedule – no more than 50% of the kids allowed on campus at any time. Half the school started today, but her cohort starts tomorrow. And then, she’ll drive herself to school for the first time. It all feels so weird.
Madeline starts next Tuesday. Her schedule looks the most normal. She’s also back in the dance studio, which is really, really good for her. And, we got her dance pictures back from this summer’s photo shoot. They are amazing! Maybe things will start to feel normal soon.
Madeline’s pictures are amazing! What beautiful form.
Thanks, Charline!
